Privacy Policy

CareerPilot AI is built around a simple principle: your resume and career information are yours, and the tools work by processing that information on your own device rather than on a server we control. This policy explains, plainly, what that means in practice.

What we don't collect

The Resume Builder, ATS Checker, and every generator and calculator on this site run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The text you type into any of these tools — your resume content, job descriptions you paste in, cover letter details — is never transmitted to a CareerPilot AI server, because no such transmission happens as part of using these tools. We have no database of user-submitted resumes.

What is stored, and where

The Resume Builder saves your in-progress resume to your browser's localStorage, a standard web browser feature that keeps data on your device only. This lets your work persist between visits without an account. It is not synced to any server, not accessible to us, and is removed if you clear your browser's site data or use the "Clear" button in the builder.

The Examples library uses sessionStorage briefly to hand text from one page to another (e.g., "Check in ATS Checker") — this data is cleared automatically once used and does not persist.

Third-party services this site uses

• Google Fonts — this site loads web fonts (Space Grotesk, Inter, IBM Plex Mono) from Google's font CDN. Loading a font involves a request to Google's servers, which may log standard technical information like your IP address, per Google's own privacy policy.
• Advertising — if and when advertising is enabled on this site (e.g., via Google AdSense), the ad provider may use cookies or similar technology to serve and measure ads, subject to their own privacy policy and any consent controls required in your region. Ad placeholders currently visible on the site are not yet live.

Cookies

This site does not set its own tracking cookies. Any cookies present would come from a third-party service listed above (such as an ad provider), not from CareerPilot AI directly.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, consistent with the fact that we do not collect resume content from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, when advertising or new features are added — this page will be updated with a new "last updated" date.
